Our 7-step building process
Communication and collaboration form the foundation of our approach to customer service. We want our clients to be as excited about their home as we are, which is why we go the extra mile to avoid surprises and eliminate unforeseen costs. So before we cut one timber or draw one window, we make sure we've asked the right questions and feel confident about the answers—and most importantly, we encourage our clients to do the same.
- 1)
Initial consultation. When a potential client contacts Native Structures, we set up a time to talk with them face to face about their project and budget. If a client is interested in building a LEED home, we also discuss how high of a rating they want to achieve. Based on that conversation, we put together a proposal detailing the project objectives and the cost.
- 2)
Planning & design phase. Once a proposal is accepted, we put the wheels of collaboration in motion, partnering with the best engineers, architects, and designers in the green building business. We discuss materials, explore building options, and present drawings to our clients throughout this phase until we find the right shade of green.
- 3)
Pre-construction meeting. Plans are approved and construction is ready to begin. To be sure we're all on the same page, the key players come together to review the drawings and production schedule. This ensures an efficient and cost-effective construction process.
- 4)
Construction begins. On every project, we take great care to minimize our impact on the surrounding environment and to eliminate excess job-site waste. Clients are encouraged to stop by and see how things are shaping up throughout the construction phase. If they have questions, we make sure that they get answers.
- 5)
Pre-inspection. Before we invite our clients to the final walk-through, we conduct our own quality-control inspection. We perform a top-to-bottom sweep to ensure that every detail has been covered and that the jobsite has been cleared of all construction materials.
- 6)
Final walk-through. The lead project manager takes clients on a tour of the project, introducing them to every green detail and educating them on important operating details. At the end of the tour, Native Structures presents clients with a detailed binder that highlights all the eco-friendly features in their home.
- 7)
Follow-up. Native Structures takes great pride in our customer service fulfillment. We follow up with our clients after 30 days with a phone call to see how they have settled into their new surroundings. At the 3-month and 12-month marks, we schedule in-home visits to address any issues, answer questions, and potentially discuss the next phase in our clients' green evolution.
